The combinations are endless for my all-time favorite fall outfit; skirts and knee-high boots. This look can be dressed up like I did here or for a casual look try a denim skirt and riding boots.
Choosing the right skirt to fit your body can be challenging. Luckily, I’ve laid out the basis in my Skirts for Your Shape graphic. Depending on your body’s shape, there a endless varieties of skirts to mix and match with boots to create your own fall go-to outfit.
Flare Skirts: BB Dakota // Plaid // Lush High Waist Skirts: ASOS // Boohoo // Compania Pencil Skirts: Max Studio // Bar III // Chapel Rose
Mini Skirts: BP Corduroy // Blank NYC // Necessary Objects
So what are the deets on my look?
My skirt has a snap front closure and a decent amount of stretch. Corduroy has always been a favorite fall staple for me. It’s very lightweight and breathable, yet thick enough to keep you warm on those chilly days. While this skirt has some flare to it, I love the high waist to accentuate my natural waistline to create the illusion that I actually have curves (LOL!).
Knee-high boots aren’t for everyone. If you have shorter legs, I suggest to steer clear of this style and opt for a bootie to elongate your legs. For those longer legged gals, these boots have some stretch in the calf. I always struggle with finding a boot to fit my calf. I don’t even have big calves, yet some styles are just near impossible to fit into. And for $34.90, you really can’t beat the quality of these boots (I just ordered them in taupe too!).
Now Payless has this bad rep for being a “cheap” shoe store. The people who think this are mostly those who haven’t stepped foot inside one in the past decade. I absolutely adore Payless! And with one of my favorite designers on board, Christian Siriano, I’m in heaven. I get tons of compliments on this handbag and when people learn I paid under $40 for it (there’s always a coupon code out there), they can’t believe it.
TIME TO BE A STYLISH SAVER!
