I am one happy girl. Why you ask? Well one, because your girl is back to blogging! I know it’s been a while since my last post and I’m back baby. And two, because it’s my favorite time of year both weather-wise and fashion-wise: FALL! Words do not exist to express my love for fall fashion, it’s my comfort clothing.
We’re still at that awkward point in Jersey where it’s chilly in the morning and by the afternoon you’re sweating your booty off; but that isn’t stopping me from getting my fall wardrobe ready.
The forecasted 2017 fall fashion trends are a combination of some style staples you might already have in your closet and some “out-there” styles that you may not feel comfortable investing in. Don’t panic, I have an alternative option to styles you don’t think you can pull off or aren’t exactly your cup of tea. The secret is in your accessories!
I use this secret for any trend that I don’t want to invest in for my wardrobe for simple reasons like:
- I don’t want to spend money on the fashion/clothing
- I’ll probably only wear it once and it’ll just hang in my closet and take up space
- I’m having mixed feelings about the trend
Who can relate?
Let’s jump right into the top 4 F’s of the fall fashion trends for 2017.
The ‘70s are in full swing! A common theme among designers during NY Fashion Week was fringe accents. This fall fashion trend is a fun and flirty way to spice up your look. What I especially love about incorporating fringe into fashion is how versatile it is. Fringe on sweaters creates a chic southwestern look, while fringe on dresses adds an elegant touch and fringe on skirts makes for a girly and fun outfit.
Faux fur has to be one of, if not, my favorite fall fashion trend. A staple to your fall wardrobe, faux fur is not a new trend to the fashion scene and has been a favorite of designers for years. You can’t go wrong with a faux fur vest and skinny jeans for a casual or dressy outfit. The faux fur collar duster coat is becoming very popular among retailers this season and is a Stylish Saver approved fashion to invest in.

Florals are usually associated with summer/spring styles, but this fall, florals are a must-have trend. What separates fall florals from spring florals are the dark undertones that designers incorporate in these styles. Dark reds, blues, purples and black are the base of most styles which make the floral designs really pop. My favorite combo is a floral high-neck blouse and suede or faux leather skirt.

Faux Leather is another trend making a repeat appearance on the must-have fall fashion list. I’ve featured this trend on my blog many times because of its slighty-edgy look which can take any outfit to the next level. Leather and lace will forever be a go-to look for me when trying to create an effortlessly chic and sexy outfit.
