This fall’s trending color palette is pretty standard featuring the usual hues of pink, reds and oranges. But this year, shades of yellows are dominating the fashion scene: bright like butter, dark like mustard and neon like chartreuse.
Yellow can be a tricky color to style. I mean, you don’t want to look like a life-size ball of sunshine walking around. You want people talking about your style for the right reasons and not laughing behind your back.
Stick with one piece of clothing in this color family per outfit. Too much can come off as gaudy.
My mustard yellow pants are from Old Navy. I think I have every color and pattern in their Pixie Pants as part of my work wardrobe. They’re a comfortable mix between leggings and trousers that make a great day to date-night staple. They do come in two lengths: crop and long. I’m a fan of the cropped only because I can show off whatever shoes I’m wearing.
But can we talk about this top for a minute? It’s from Target so you already know it’s affordable. The Who What Wear Collection is an effortless and chic clothing and accessory line for women of all sizes. My sheer floral shell is one of my favorite fall tops. It’s perfect for those days where it’s freezing in the morning to layer under a blazer or cardigan and then take it off by afternoon when it’s hot as heck.
Here are some of my other favorite styles from the collection at Target.
A boyfriend blazer should be a staples in your closet and if it isn’t, I highly suggest investing in one. Whether you’re going on an interview, date, or lunch with friends, adding a boyfriend blazer to your look can up the
chic factor. My blazer is from the LC Lauren Conrad Collection at Kohl’s, aka my fashion idol! Don’t get me started on Lauren Conrad and her super affordable designs!
As for my shoes, you know my rule of thumb; the chunkier the heel, the more comfortable they are to walk in. These Candies faux suede heels are one of the more comfortable pair of heels I own and have a decent amount of cushion too.
